Today, I explored some interesting Google Adwords features and generated a list of advertising keywords relevant to this webpage. I told the adwords tool called “keywords tool external” (link) to spider this whole domain for relevant keywords, and after half a minute of searching several hundred keywords were proposed to me. I only sorted out the very few unrelated ones and clicked through the following pages, where I entered the values for my daily budget and maximum CPC (cost per click). For testing purposes I set the daily budget to €10000 and the maximum CPC to €50, then I configured the output to display as 500 rows per page.

It was quite interesting to see, how different the estimated average CPCs were and how these figures can be interpreted. When checking the most expensive CPC keywords, I realized where the advertising competition on the main topic “SEO” is the toughest.

High Quality and ethical white hat SEO keyphrase add ons such as “reputable”,”professional”,”natural” are highly competitive, as well as one black hat SEO keyphrase add on only: “cloaker”. Another thing I found significant was the enormous SEO competition in Chicago, ranked #2 and #24 in this test’s search results as opposed to the second most competitive region which is Florida, ranked #19 and the third most competitive region Dallas ranked #43.
