According to an
analytical study published at the
Search Engine Strategies Conference 2007 New York, a front page listing at Digg.com results in a traffic flow of 10-30k visitors to the average site. Additionally, and that's probably the more important part, sites do on average receive
1000 or more inbound links from a Digg front page listing.
But
how do you get listed at Digg's front page?
Basically, you should follow the rules for
creating a successful link bait. On the other hand, keep in mind that Digg.com mainly consists of technically-focused "geek" users when creating your
Digg.com link bait article.
Also,
beforehand! - make sure that your web server is able to handle 1000+ visitors per hour - because that's the amount of traffic you're going to receive when you make it to
Digg.com's front page. Actually, most of the sites which have been
dugg for the first time, had their
webserver down for quite a while - so let this be a warning to you!

Good luck everyone!
