google trust factorWhat is google trust factor?

Google trust factor“, in terms of search engine optimization, is an attribute applied to websites by google, which influences the way how websites rank in the search engine result pages (serps).

How is a website’s google trust factor calculated?

Briefly speaking, google calculates the trust factor by the following sub-factors:

  • age factor (age of the site)
  • authority factor (number of authoritative backlinks)
  • content quality (quality of the content previously published on the site)

How does the google trust factor influence the rank of a website in the serps?

A high Google trust factor enables a website to avoid ranking filters that Google applies to websites:

Damping effect (sandbox effect)

The damping effect is also called Google Sandbox. Having a high Google trust factor enables a website to avoid the damping that Google applies to the serps rank of new content.

Linking score (link popularity)

The linking score is also called Link Popularity. A high Google trust factor helps you avoiding the penalty Google applies to new websites that have thousands of incoming low quality links from other domains (which is in most cases an indication for being a spam website).
