
Background info on the SEO World Championship 2007
Seo Contests have been around for quite a while, do you remember the legendary “nigritude ultramarine“? The bar has been raised and a more or less official “SEO World Championship” has been formed by a Swedish SEO Company. 2007’s contest, called “globalwarming awareness2007” - that’s the phrase the participating SEOs or SEO Companies are going to optimize for - has been launched on January 15th and will end March 1st. The rules partially differ from previous contests.

SEO World Championship 2007 Winner Selection
The SEO World Champion 2007 will be selected March 1st by the combined Top 10 rankings from Google, MSN and Yahoo.
Rank 1 equals 10 points, Rank 10 equals 1 point, everything in between is calculated accordingly.
Example: If you rank #1 on Google, #3 on Yahoo and #5 on MSN, that would be 10+8+6= 24 points total.
Reasons for running an SEO challenge
Why does the Swedish SEO Company run this competition? They have to pay for all these prizes, what are their benefits, you might ask. It’s quite simple: Off page Optimization by Link Popularity!
